about The Watermen

This is a collection of stories told by tough men about growing up on sand, surrounded by salt water. Living adventures that are never going to be repeated, and are unique. Told by the characters that were there, the names have been changed to protect the guilty and the innocent can look after themselves. They are gentlemen all, in a gravel rashed sort of way, and sensitivities of modern times are largely ignored when recounting the tales. The humor is different, from the past hard working times. All events are true, all places have been jumbled apart and together to maintain their privacy in our presently troubled world. Some gentlemen are quite prepared to use their real names, but as the author I have made 'nom de plumes' for all, as a condition of inclusion. Better safe than sorry. Certainly some casual observers of these stories will be offended if they want to be, and I am sure there is a website they can visit to vent their displeasure. This book is not for the vocationally sensitive. This is their collective real history, undisturbed by the modern filters. I hope it paints a picture of their lost world.  Enjoy!
